Medical schools didn’t want Deaf students In 1971, he applied again and got accepted to Rutger’s Medical School In 1974, he earned his Master’s Degree In 1976, he earned his M.D. After his medical training, he worked near the California School for the Deaf and the California School for the Blind He uses special devices to hear heartbeats In the past, he was a member of the National Board of Medical Examiners In 1986, at NTID, the National Technical Institute for the Deaf, he received the Edmund Lyons Memorial Lectureship Award Today, he lives in California, working in private practice
