Good Afternoon! Today I want to perform for you an arrangement for guitar I’ve made over the melody so famous composed by Scott Joplin in 1902 The Entertainer It’s a rag-time in 2 steps which means a ragged time in 2 pulses it is in the measure of 2 by 4 and the rag time consists in a syncopated rhythm which marks mostly odd pulses for example, if we’re in 2 by 4, it marks the 1st time instead of the 2nd In the scores, Scott Joplin indicated “Not Fast” And this is because rag-time which now it is a characteristic rhythm of Jazz and it derived from African music among other influences So it shouldn’t be played so fast In 70’s it was part of the Soundtrack of the film The Sting which also won an Oscar I’ve made it in G Major but tuning the 6th in D It gives you a lot of doorbell possibilities cause you have D opened string, which is the dominant of G You can acquire the scores and tabs of my arrangement on my website: and you can also subscribe my Youtube channel like, comment or share with your friends if you liked it!
